Petition: Stop the “Nanny’s Charter”

The Remuneration Authority has just approved a plan to let councils and local boards give elected members up to $6,000 per year from for childcare.

We say ratepayers should not be forced to pay for local politicians’ nannies and housekeepers.

In very few jobs does the employer stump up for childcare. Why should politicians receive ratepayer-funded benefits that very few ratepayers are afforded?

"I call on my council, and local councils and boards across the country, to reject the proposed childcare allowance."
