Ute Tax

Our Ute Tax campaign fought Labour's Clean Car Discount, which unfairly hit farmers, tradies, rural communities and families who relied on utes and other higher-emitting vehicles.

We mobilised tens of thousands of New Zealanders through petitions, bumper stickers, signs and grassroots campaigning, while keeping the pressure on National to commit to scrapping the tax.

Following the 2023 election, the Ute Tax was scrapped, along with the subsidies for electric vehicles.
