Petition: Keep it The Tron

Hamilton sign

A vocal minority is now lobbying for Hamilton City Council to change the name of the city from "Hamilton" to "Kirikiriroa". If the Council considers this, it will mean a divisive consultation process, a potential referendum, ratepayer-funded revamps of branding and signage, and staff and councillors' time wasted. The Council should dismiss the suggestion and focus on the economic crisis at hand.

"Hamilton City Council must dismiss calls for a city name change, and focus on current problems facing ratepayers."
