The Taxpayers’ Union Board has issued a categorical denial of allegations made by Nicky Hager concerning an alleged sexual harassment settlement.
Taxpayers’ Union Chair Ruth Richardson said:
“The Taxpayers’ Union Board categorically denies Nicky Hager’s allegation that the organisation has ever made any payment to settle a sexual harassment claim against Jordan Williams. There have been no claims, let alone settlements.
“I have spoken directly with previous Chairs and with the organisation’s co-founder, who served on the Board until 2023. All are unequivocal: the allegation is totally untrue.
“The Taxpayers’ Union will not be distracted by false claims. We will continue doing what we have always done: standing up for taxpayers, scrutinising government spending, and fighting for lower taxes, less waste, and more accountability.”
