Scrapping Fees Free

Our Scrap Fees Free campaign fought the Government’s costly tertiary education policy from its inception in 2017, which shifted the cost of study onto taxpayers without delivering the promised increase in participation.

We exposed waste within the scheme, including more than $1.1 million spent subsidising commercial skydiving courses, and consistently made the case that taxpayers should not be forced to fund a policy that disproportionately benefited future higher earners. The campaign ultimately delivered a policy victory, with Fees Free scrapped and the scheme set to end entirely in 2026.
