Wellington City Council plans to tear up Thorndon Quay and erect six sets of traffic lights and five sets on speed bumps along just 1.7km of the main route into Wellington CBD.

All this is being built on top of millions of dollars worth of pipes needing urgent repair, and will all likely need digging up again when the next one bursts.

There has only been one serious accident on this road in 10 years and emergency services have said this will make their jobs harder, so rather than making the city safer it will put lives at risk.

The Council are clear the purpose of this is to make driving into the city harder. Businesses are saying this will drive them out of business. And rates are tripling to pay for wasteful projects like this. Sign the petition to tell them no.
