Membership of the New Zealand Taxpayers’ Union Incorporated (“Taxpayers’ Union”) is open to any individual or organisation who supports the aims and objectives of the Taxpayers’ Union.
The Board of the Taxpayers’ Union in its sole discretion shall have the right to refuse membership to, or to cancel the membership of, any person consistent with the rules of the Taxpayers’ Union registered with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies.
The fee for membership is set by the board of the Taxpayers’ Union. This is currently $25.00 per year for individuals.
The Taxpayers’ Union will not disclose the identity of its member or supporters, except as required by law, or where the member/supporter consents. Members and supporters are free (and are encouraged) to disclose their membership or support of the Taxpayers’ Union publicly. Nevertheless, to protect the rights to privacy of our members and supporters, when asked by third parties, we neither confirm nor deny whether someone has joined or donated unless that donor/supporter has specifically instructed us otherwise.
Members and non-members are encouraged to donate to the Taxpayers’ Union to finance its operations and campaigns but the choice of the causes, campaigns and policy positions remains at the sole discretion of the board of the Taxpayers’ Union.
