Prime Minister Christopher Luxon claims that 50 percent of government agencies don't have asset management plans.
That means half of the government's departments, crown entities, and state-owned enterprises have no idea what buildings, vehicles, and IT they own or what condition they're in.
This is a basic function of any organisation, and would never fly in the private sector. We've written to the Prime Minister to ask which agencies are failing to show respect for taxpayers' money, and what's being done about it.
