Championing Value For Money From Every Tax Dollar

Labour Must Rule Out The Inflation Tax

The Taxpayers’ Union says that if Labour is ruling out the Ute Tax and a streaming tax, it should also rule out the inflation tax.

Taxpayers’ Union spokesperson Tyler Groenewald said:

“Labour says it is campaigning on only one new tax - its capital gains tax. But without indexing tax brackets to inflation, bracket creep remains a stealth tax hike on workers.”

“Ruling out taxing utes or Netflix is the easy part. If Labour really wants to rule out tax hikes, it should stop inflation quietly pushing workers into higher tax brackets.”
