ACT show you don’t need to mash the ‘new tax’ button

Responding to ACT’s Local Tourism Dividend policy, Taxpayers’ Union spokesman James Ross said:

“ACT have done what National wouldn’t: ruled out new taxes while finding a way to give councils more of the upside from tourism, not just the costs."

“Using existing tourism funding to reward councils for attracting visitors beats slapping another tax on the tourism industry. ACT just needs to lay out what fat they're trimming to find the cash, and make sure the budget doesn’t quietly bloat again next May.”
