The Taxpayers' Union is calling out public servants earning an average of $103,300 a year for going on strike for more pay, despite already being paid $17,600 more than the average private sector worker.
Taxpayers’ Union spokesman Rhys Hurley said:
“It takes a certain amount of nerve to earn $17,600 more than the average private sector worker, down tools, and then demand that same worker pays you even more.
“Taxpayers can’t go on strike from paying the bill. If the PSA wants more money, it should tell New Zealanders whether it wants higher taxes, more borrowing, or cuts elsewhere.
