Stop the Travel Tax

During last year's election campaign the National Party promised not to introduce new taxes. But in Budget 2015 the Government introduced a new levy on New Zealanders' most favoured luxury and the treasured 'OE'.

The Government has said that the new Travel Tax will be $16 for incoming and $6 for all departing passengers - that's the equivalent to $88 for a family of four to visit the Gold Coast. Worst of all, there'll be no reduction of any other taxes to compensate for the revenue gathering.

John Key should stick to his election promise of 'no new taxes' and ditch the new Travel Tax.
